Collection: Indian Rosewood
Indian Rosewood is a dark and visually rich hardwood and is famous for its top of the line resilience to decay.
This is a very stable wood and can be dried sufficiently for use in furniture by the sun alone. Generally, Indian Rosewood has a straight grain, though it can be interlocked—sometimes severely so. Texture is medium to coarse with a good natural luster.
As a true rosewood, a wonderful fragrance is emitted when cutting. Indian Rosewood is one of the softest rosewoods and machines very well.
Uses
Indian Rosewood glues and finishes sufficiently, however sometimes because of the irregular shape of the tree grain reversals and interlocked grain can be prone to tear out.
Indian Rosewood is found in these kinds of objects:
- Fine Furniture
- Cabinetry
- Architectural Millwork
- Tonal qualities make it a great choice for musical instruments
